The portable reaches 14 m², and up to 16-18 m² if the room is well insulated. For comparison: the transparent covers 6 m² per unit (8 m² well insulated) and the fixed wall unit 12 m² (14 m² well insulated).
No. You use it like air conditioning: you switch on the one you need. In a 14 m² room a single unit is fine for most of the winter, and the second radiator goes on during the coldest days of January and February. That active use is what saves the most.
No. The surface reaches up to 95 °C, but stores no energy: it only gives off the heat it generates at that instant. You can pick it up while hot to move it without getting burnt. It is NON-luminous infrared, the opposite of a red-hot quartz tube, which works between 500 and 900 °C.
Radiant heat is felt in SECONDS. The first two or three days of use are the ones that dry out the damp in the house and warm up walls and furniture. From then on you feel more heat while spending less: patience creates savings.
